The group works closely with the British government’s Department of Work and Pensions and with local companies to help unemployed people in different parts of the country find appropriate jobs.
Ingeus’ five-year leasing commitment at the Gateway development in the centre of Leeds is one of the largest office space deals seen in the city in recent months. It anticipates having 33 employees permanently based at the site, where it will take 12,000 sq ft of central Leeds office space.
“Ingeus has been delivering the ‘Work Programme’ in Leeds since June and this move means that we will have the facilities we need to assist local people to get back to work and support local employers with their recruitment needs from one central, easily accessible location,” said Ingeus’ director in Yorkshire Mark Taylor.
The organisation, which is partly owned by the auditing and advisory firm Deloitte, begins its welfare-to-work operations in 2002 and was enlisted by the government to provide these services in regions across England and Scotland in June 2011.
The Gateway is a mixed-use development where a string of high-profile and long-term residents are already well established.
Office space at the Gateway is for the most part found along the development’s lower floors with accommodation available for businesses and other employers on a scale of between 1,621 sq ft and 31,712 sq ft. As well as offices, the site incorporates a range of retail outlets, a bar, a restaurant, a hotel and gym.
