The creator of some of the most popular apps in the world for the iPhone has expanded its office space in Philadelphia by a full 300 percent it has been announced.
Chaikin Power Tools has expanded its office suite in the Foremost office building on the back of massive uptake of its free iPhone apps for investors.
The company only launched its first iPhone app in March but it has already gained the premier position in iTune’s App Store and been recommended by Barron’s and featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“It has been a very fast start for us,” said Marc Chaikin, CEO of Chaikin Stock Research.
“I have created software for Wall Street banks for decades, but this endeavor of putting professional tools in the hands of individual investors has been the most exciting. The demand for the tools is high and the desire of very talented individuals to work with us to accelerate the growth of this venture continues to be very strong.”
Recently Marc Chaikin was named among the list of “Top Wall Street Experts and Opinion Leaders” by Wall Street Economists, an organization that studies economics and financial journalism.
The company recently raised USD 1 million for its further expansion, including the hiring of staff for positions ranging from product managers to research assistants.
Philadelphia’s economy is continuing to struggle, though the city has been pouring millions of dollars into an advertising campaign in order to boost tourism revenue. Now more visitors are apparently coming to the city with 37.4 million visits in 2010, an increase on the 36.01 million in the previous year.
Since 1997 over 20 new hotels have opened in the city.
