A total of 17,000 square feet of new office space has been leased by the communications firm in Gurgaon, which lies around 30 kilometres south of the Indian capital. It is a major satellite city in the state of Haryana and sits within the National Capital Region (NCR).
“It is an honour to officiate at today’s inauguration ceremony, which reflects our ongoing commitment to the India region,” said Greg Wieboldt, senior vice president of AT&T’s Global Client Group.
“A growing number of multinational customers are doing business in this region, and we will continue to invest in India to meet the global connectivity and applications services needs of these customers.”
In addition to opening his company’s new office space near Delhi, Mr Wiebolt is also involved in the Technical Leaders Forum, which is taking place in India this week and brings together some of the leading players in the Asian telecoms industry to discuss and exchange ideas.
Last month, the German-based engineering conglomerate Siemens revealed its plan to cut the carbon footprint of Siemens Ltd’s office space buildings in India by at least 15 per cent before the end of 2012.
