A contract has been awarded that will see a new office space development established in the Dubai Festival City area of the United Arab Emirates.
Already home to all manner of office blocks, entertainment complexes and high-end residential properties, the Festival City is set for a new raft of business-friendly workspaces as a result of a deal between Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate and Khansaheb Civil Engineering.
Al-Futtaim is aiming to see a total of five new office buildings developed at the site but its agreement with the locally-based engineering firm concerns only the first, for now at least.
The initial office development is to comprise close to 22,000 sq m of commercial space and Khansaheb has also been enlisted to deliver all the necessary infrastructure surrounding the site.
“We’re delighted to commence the construction of Al Badia Business Park, a much anticipated commercial offices project at Dubai Festival City, the mega mixed-use development,” said Emad Nimeh, development director for Al-Futtaim’s residential and commercial division.
“Al Badia Business Park will offer an exceptional commercial environment with easy road access, ample parking, excellent infrastructure as well as a wide range of world class leisure and shopping facilities,” he added.
Work on the project is expected to be complete before the end of next summer and the real estate investors behind the development have been keen to note its proximity to Dubai International Airport and it strategically worthwhile location close to the banks of Dubai Creek.
Al-Futtaim has been the main instigator behind the creation of Festival City, which has become one of the most exclusive tourist attractions in the Middle East over the course of the past few years, with music stars like Kylie Minogue and Carlos Santana having played the Festival Centre recently.
