Law firm opens new Manchester office

[Published July 2012 and updated July 2024] The law firm Ward Hadaway has opened a new set of offices in central Manchester to add to its other operating bases in the north of England.

Having put together a team to work from The Observatory building along Chapel Walks, the firm has now officially established itself in the heart of Manchester.

Bosses described the offices as offering excellent facilities and being located in a perfect spot as they look to expand their existing presence in the north.

“We have already assembled an excellent team of lawyers here in Manchester with experience and expertise across a wide range of areas, and we are actively recruiting in the marketplace with a view to expanding the team still further,” said Martin Hulls, Ward Hadaway’s head of corporate finance and offices.

“We are delighted to have opened this new office and are really excited about developing and growing our business in the region.”

The firm’s other offices are in Leeds and Newcastle, the two largest cities in Yorkshire and Northumberland. Its offices in Manchester sit on the seventh floor of The Observatory, not far from the city’s town hall or its recently rejuvenated Spinningfields district.

A recent report looking into the prospects for office space markets across the various regions of the UK outside of London tipped Manchester as most likely to see notably positive activity in the second half of 2012. The study by CB Richard Ellis analysts pointed to several large-scale office building projects reaching completion as a cause for optimism in the local market.

Editor’s notes: As of July 2014, Ward Hadaway’s Manchester office is listed as 10 Chapel Walks on its website.

The law firm is based at 5 Wellington Place in Leeds and Sandgate House, 102 Quayside in Newcastle.
