Office space move boosts London law firm

[Published November 2010 and updated May 2023] A law firm whose London office was established less than a year ago is moving to a new area of office space in London to keep pace with the growing demand for its services.

Greenberg Traurig Maher is set to relocate to an area of around 18,000 sq ft of office space on Gray’s Inn Road towards the northern edge of the City of London.

It is hoped that the new and flexible office space will help the company meet the needs of its clients, with the help of some of the very latest and fastest available technology.

“We couldn’t be more pleased that by our first anniversary, we need additional space,” said Paul Maher, chairman of Greenberg Traurig Maher in London.

“The design and amenities of our new, larger office space carefully address client needs in a world where the traditional legal service model is changing rapidly.”

The law firm’s staff will have been relocated by the end of the year to the relevant City of London office space building, which was designed by the architect Norman Foster and is primarily occupied by the television company ITN.

Greenberg Traurig Maher sees its recent success as a vindication of its policy of investing in London at a time when few rival businesses were willing to do so.

“With our investment in London we have truly enhanced our firm’s alignment with our clients’ global needs, with top quality being our guide,” said the firm’s chief executive Richard A Rosenbaum.

Editor’s notes: The US-based law firm was established in 1967 and, as of 2022, was the 9th largest law firm in the United States.

As of May 2023, the firm (also known as GT) had 2,650 attorneys and 45 locations on three continents.

In London, the firm now rents office space in The Shard having agreed to occupy 20,000 square feet in London’s tallest building from April 2016, following the expiry of the lease in Grays Inn.
