Salford Quays offices attract two new occupants

[Published October 2010 and last updated June 2026] An area providing hybrid commercial property in Salford Quays has attracted two new occupants to take up residence in what is proving to be an increasingly popular location.

Cameron Industrial Services and hair salon wholesaler Aston & Fincher are the two businesses involved in a deal that will see them each lease part industrial and part office space.

Salford Quays is fast becoming a prominent centre for communications companies, thanks largely to the MediaCityUK developments that are well underway. Both Cameron Industrial Services and Aston & Fincher will now have roughly 4,500 square feet of nearby office space to work from.

The companies are set to start operating from detached units in Salford that comprise equal square footage of industrial and office space, following deals agreed with AXA Real Estate Investment Managers and the property services firm King Sturge.

Richard Johnson from King Sturge, who was involved in both deals, said: “The hybrid units allow occupiers to save on occupational costs by combining their industrial/warehouse and office requirements under one roof.

“We are delighted to have disposed of both units on good terms in a slow market, especially when their bespoke configuration makes them suitable only for a limited number of occupiers.”

Earlier this month, Peel Media, the main developer behind MediaCityUK applied for planning permission to convert a three-storey building in Salford Quays into a serviced office space hub designed to meet the needs of several small creative companies.

Several billion pounds worth of investment is expected over the next few years to help develop MediaCityUK into one of the leading commercial destinations of its kind in Europe.

Editor’s notes: It is noted that, in May 2023, Cameron Industrial Services Ltd dissolved in December 2019, and Aston & Fincher no longer lists a Salford office on its website.

Richard Johnson is now a Director in the Industrial Agency Team of the JLL Manchester office.

In January 2026, it was reported that the retail and leisure arm of Peel Group, the organisation that created MediaCityUK and the Quayside retail/leisure centre, Peel Retail and Leisure, planned to redevelop the Quayside complex in Salford Quays.

An indoor electric go-karting venue and a bowling alley were said to feature in the plans.
