Offices in Salford Quays and more specifically at the MediaCityUK development have welcomed two more businesses to their growing roster of north west-based media industry occupants.
The brand design and illustration company Piction Media has moved its staff into offices at The Greenhouse building at MediaCityUK, where they have been joined by the memorably titled computer gaming business Stompy Blondie Games.
Piction Media specialises in creating 3D visuals and brand image systems, counting the BBC and the cosmetics retailer Superdrug among its major clients. Its director Matthew Kay cited the development’s sustainability credentials among the reasons it was chosen as a new office base for the company in the north-west.
“As our business is creative collaboration, this is the ideal environment for our digital studio,” he said. “This, combined with its BREEAM status and commitment to sustainability, attracted us to MediaCityUK and is enabling us to put down roots following our relocation from London.”
Stompy Blondie Games meanwhile is a business in its infancy, with its founder Fiona Burrows keen to begin forging worthwhile relationships with fellow start-ups and more well-established companies based at The Greenhouse.
The Greenhouse is among the leading office space sites made available as part of the on-going MediaCityUK scheme that is aiming to radically transform Salford Quays into an internationally renowned and competitive media industry hub.
The regeneration initiative is close to being matched in scope and ambition by others in the north-west, including Peel Waters and Elsemere Quays, where expansive plans are set to see the Peel Group redevelop vast tracts of land.
MediaCityUK is now home to major BBC and ITV studio and office facilities, as well as the operating bases of dozens of less well known but fast growing media organisations.
