The wealth management business Quilter has opened a new office in North Wales with the aim of better serving its clients in the region.
The firm has a network of offices around the UK and has so far been delivering services to its clients in North Wales via its offices across the English border in nearby Liverpool.
It is hoped that Quilter’s new offices at Llandudno Junction will provide a worthwhile platform for expansion of the wealth manager’s presence in North Wales, where business has reportedly been strengthening notably in recent quarters.
“North Wales is an important region for us and it makes sense to have an office there,” explained Richard Thorn, who works as head of Quilter’s Liverpool office and has now been put in charge of its North Wales team.
“We will be nearer to our clients and, with volatility in the markets set to continue in the foreseeable future, we are sure they will find our local presence reassuring.”
Quilter noted on announcing the opening of its new office at Llandudno Junction that its north-west of England and North Wales workforce increased in scale by 50 percent over the course of last year alone.
“Demand for our services is growing across the North West of England and Wales,” Mr Thorn made clear.
With some £7.6 billion worth of funds under management at the end of 2011, Quilter has a total of 13 offices in the UK, Jersey and Ireland and employs roughly 350 people at those sites.
Llandudno Junction has seen a number of significant office space builds in recent years with the Welsh Assembly Government moving hundreds of its staff to the town to make good on its promise of bringing its services “closer to the people of Wales”.
