Aspen, part of a global insurance group of the same name, already has several offices in London and others in Birmingham, Bristol, and Glasgow.
“Expanding our business to this key UK business hub is an exciting development, further positioning Aspen Risk Management as a growing insurance and risk management provider in the UK’s regions,” said Geoff Crisp, executive director of Aspen Risk Management’s network of regional offices.
Paul Dooley has been appointed to lead the company’s first Manchester office, which lies more or less in the heart of Spinningfields, a city district gaining a reputation as a hub for financial services and insurance firms.
At 16 storeys high, 3 Hardman Street is among the tallest buildings in a recently radically regenerated mixed-use development area.
“Opening an office in the city enables us to expand the range of insurance brokers we work with, and to bring our innovative combination of insurance and risk management services to their clients,” said Mr Crisp.
Crisp went on to note that the property advisory giant Cushman & Wakefield rated Manchester as the 12th best city in Europe to establish an office presence and the best in the UK outside of London.
Some of the biggest names in finance also rent office space at 3 Hardman Street in Spinningfields, including Barclays, Investec, the Bank of New York, and Regus.
Editor’s notes: As of July 2024, Aspen Risk Management did not occupy office space in Manchester. The company listed 30 Fenchurch Street in the EC3 Insurance District of the City of London as its only UK office on its LinkedIn page.
