Beehive Lofts Luxury Coworking Space and Offices

What type of flexible workspace does Beehive Lofts provide?

Beehive Lofts is a co-working space based in a Grade II listed mill that dates back to the 1800s in Ancoats, Manchester M4.

Set across nine lofts in the centre of Ancoats Urban Village, close to the Northern Quarter and less than 10 minutes walk from the city centre, the unique workspace provides workplace solutions to solo workers, remote workers, freelancers, start-ups, small and medium business and established businesses

Offering all-inclusive coworking membership packages, the space is used by individuals and teams of all sizes. Businesses also enjoy the flexibility of being able to add or remove memberships as needed in line with the growing or shrinking desk space requirements.

One of the lofts is favoured by businesses seeking team co-working memberships as the extra-large desks within it are clustered in groups of 4.

These height-adjustable desks are approximately 50% larger than those of other coworking providers in Manchester and are large enough to fit two monitors on.

This proves to be a popular choice with businesses seeking on-demand workspaces for offsite work and for those seeking a temporary office space or workspace solution for any other uses.

And there is a wide range of other drop-in workspace options too.

Some of the features of the business space solutions provided by Beehive Lofts include:

There is a range of bookable meeting rooms available to hire at Beehive Lofts.

These range from smaller 4 person meeting rooms up to workshop meeting rooms that are perfect for training days, away days, onboarding, project work or for use as a satellite workspace.

These rooms are equipped with whiteboards, 75″ screens with wireless presenting compatibility, state-of-the-art teleconference facilities, high-speed Wi-Fi and direct access to the full-service kitchen and luxury drinks selection.

Beehive Lofts also provides unique event spaces that are perfect for product launches, press launches, pitches and celebrations.

Facts about Beehive Lofts

Why choose Beehive Lofts flexible coworking space?

Beehive Lofts has been described as Manchester’s most luxurious shared workspace and this is no doubt down to the independent owners, Katie and Steve’s belief that “If the office is where you go to get work done, why not go somewhere wonderful?”.

And, this is backed by others who state that Beehive Lofts is the “nicest office in Manchester” as well as being a “safe and comfortable workspace”.

Beehive Lofts is a unique space in which to remote work and benefits from unique features throughout, exposed brickwork, stunning natural light and original solid wood floors.

Catering to freelancers, solopreneurs, startups, SMEs and established companies such as Chalkboard, Price & Myers, and Randall Thorp, Beehive Lofts is also increasingly creating workplace solutions for homeworkers and remote workers who are engaging in flexible working.

The owners of Beehive Lofts have long known that whilst working from home can create a sense of liberation from the 9 – 5 treadmill, it can become lonely and unproductive once the novelty wears off.

The professional coworking spaces are designed for productive deep work and this is enhanced significantly by the friendly and vibrant atmosphere created by the community of like-minded individuals and businesses.

There are self-serving kitchens, chillout areas, pool tables and even hammocks so members have a choice of how they wish to recharge in-between tasks or wind down before they head home.

There is a wide range of places to work from so members are not limited to their kitchen table or spare bedroom – there are sofa-booths that combine the ergonomics of a booth with the cosiness of a sofa, there are large well-lit desks on which to spread out and focus with views of the Pennines or the New Islington Marina and, of course, there are the aforementioned hammocks!

In fact, 30% of the Beehive Lofts members are would-be WFHomers that needed a change of scenery.

Although Beehive Lofts is a home-from-home for creatives and freelancers, it is also home to startups, and small, growing and established businesses that are so proud of their workplace that it is often mentioned in recruitment postings.

And it obviously works as businesses in Beehive Lofts continue to mention the office address to help to recruit talent.

Another advantage to locating a business in Beehive Lofts is that the owners use their various platforms to proudly champion their members’ businesses.

Finally, locating your business in Ancoats means that it will be in one of the most exciting up-and-coming districts of Manchester city centre.

Just 10 minutes’ walk from the traditional centre, Ancoats is easily accessible by car, train, bus, tram, bike, scooter or via a pleasant walk along the canal.

Don’t just take our word for it though, other businesses that call Ancoats home include Cotton Café, Float Level – Floatation Centre, Pollen Bakery, Rads, Rudy’s Pizza, Seven Bro7hers Beerhouse, and The Jane Eyre, to name just a few.

And, of course, Mana restaurant is also located in Ancoats – Manchester’s only Michelin-starred restaurant.

In December 2021, Ancoats was officially named as Manchester’s ‘Little Italy’.

Already unofficially known by the same name for many years, many Italians migrated to Manchester during the 19th century to flee turmoil in their country and to seek work in the cotton mills.

Not all went to work in the mills, though. Luckily, some wished to bring share their culture, with one of the most notable and celebrated being ice cream. Several family businesses were established – one of those was by the Scappaticci family who still has a stall on Market Street (less than a 10-minute walk from Beehive Lofts!), today.

There was a custom of serving ice cream out of glasses that customers licked – a ‘penny lick’ but this was soon deemed to be unsanitary, and the ice cream industry came under threat.

However, an Italian Ancoats resident – Antonio Valvona, who lived on Great Ancoats Street, came up with a solution – he patented his invention as an ‘Apparatus for Baking Biscuit Cups for Ice Cream’ and in doing so, he invented the Ice Cream Cone!

So Ancoats has a long history of game-changing entrepreneurial spirit.
