What types of flexible workspace products do Camden Collective provide?

Camden Collective provides affordable Private Offices in Camden on the upper floors of its building.

Offered to growing local start-ups, the private offices are accessible 24/7 and are equipped with Gigabit up/down Wi-Fi.

Occupiers enjoy the free use of meeting rooms, event space and a 16-person boardroom as well as cycle storage and showers.

Camden Collective also offers Affordable Fixed Desks when availability allows. The dedicated desks are charged at similar rates to hot desks in other locations in Camden.

The Collective also offers Free Hotdesking to recent graduates, start-up founders and entrepreneurs who want to grow their ideas and need a space to do it.

Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis, and the Collective welcomes requests from those in the creative or tech sectors, who require early-stage support, are creating a business for the social good, and wish to be a part of the community, amongst other criteria.

Who are Camden Collective?

Founded in 2009, the drive behind the creation of Camden Collective was to revitalise the High Street following the devasting effects of the Great Recession.

With funding from Camden Town Unlimited, the team leased empty commercial units in Camden and turned them into free pop-up shops allowing start-ups to test the market and prove the viability of the unit for future commercial occupiers.

One of these units had a backroom, and a free start-up hotdesking space was created in there forming a coworking and pop-up community.

Following the success of this model, the Collective became an independent charity and secured funding to expand significantly creating a pop-up market, multiple hotdesking spaces, and other areas with pop-up stalls and shops.

In 2014, Collective secured a licence to occupy a vacant hospital in Euston that was earmarked for demolition for HS2 which had capacity for 500 members.

In 2017, the hospital was demolished so Collective switched locations to Collective Auction Rooms.

Today, Camden Collective is a registered charity that offers free hotdesking space and subsidised offices to creative and tech start-ups in the heart of Camden Town.

Why choose Camden Collective flexible workspace and offices?

Camden Collective was created for the social good and continues to attract like-minded folk.

Notable businesses that use the Camden co-working space include Clime-it Brothers, Sudden Black and Stemettes, and the Amy Winehouse Foundation, Hospital Records and Enter Shikari have all previously used the Camden Collective pop-up shops, so members are in great company.

Aside from the affordable dedicated desks, free hotdesking and low-price office rental, various incentives are run from time-to-time, for instance in 2023, Euston Town BID funded a bursary program offering 20 businesses access to free fixed desk space to climate tech start-ups.

The Collective has created a collaborative working environment and a self-sustaining community in which members are asked to contribute two hours of their time each month towards the growth and development of the Collective, to attend quarterly review meetings, and to agree to follow its first rule – ‘don’t be an arse’!

All of the above have helped the Collective to achieve its goals and to carry on growing and continuously improving since 2009.
