Our guides to flexible office and workspace providers in Peterborough
At The Office Providers, we offer access to all flexible workspace options in Peterborough from a wide range of providers, operators, and brands, allowing you to search and compare workspaces that best suit your needs.
We act as an aggregator of office space and workspace, filtering and condensing the marketplace to show you options that perfectly match your requirements.
Many office space landlords that traditionally provide leased office space to rent now provide non-leased workspace options, so, in these cases, they are also classed as office providers.

Peterborough is a cathedral city in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire. It is approximately 75 miles north of the UK capital and 30 miles northwest of Cambridge. The city has a population of approximately 200,000.
The environmental goods and services sector is important to Peterbrough’s economy, and the city has the largest cluster of environmental businesses in the UK, following it designating, in 1994, itself one of four environment cities in the UK and began working to become the country’s acknowledged environment capital.
The Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT), an independent charity, was also established at the same time to work towards this goal. It delivers projects promoting healthier and sustainable living in the city. One of those is The Green Wheel, which opened in 2000. It is a network of cycling routes that provides over 45 miles of continuous sustainable routes around Peterborough.
The Greater Peterborough area is home to over 26,000 businesses that employ over 300,000 people. With a target to double GVA by 2040, nearly £2 billion was invested in the early 2020s to enhance infrastructure, optimise digital connectivity, and develop skills.
With a £30 million full-fibre-to-the-premises gigabit network, Peterborough has a nationally significant cluster of over 6,000 businesses specialising in high-tech manufacturing, agri-food, logistics, and distribution, including Amazon, IKEA, and Yearsley Group.
The city is also proud of its high rate of start-ups and growing businesses in a wide range of sectors, which are supported by grassroots business communities.
Due to the wide range of businesses of varying sizes from diverse sectors, Peterborough offers many business space options, including conventionally leased office spaces for rent, fitted and managed offices and coworking space options.
We are often asked if flexible workspaces like serviced offices cost more to rent in Peterborough than leased office space.
It is quite a complex comparison exercise, and whilst many companies will provide tools such as an office space cost calculator or similar, there are often many things to consider.
Traditional office space is quoted on a price per square foot basis, which is the rate paid annually for a tenant’s demise.
This only refers to the office rent and so the tenant is also responsible for paying the business rates on the hereditament, the services charge (if there are common areas within the office building), insurance and running costs for the space such as cleaning, utilities, broadband, security costs, receptionist staffing costs, IT support and so forth.
The tenant is also responsible for paying for the fit-out of the space, furniture and fittings, a deposit, and dilapidations at the expiry of the lease term.
The costing model for serviced offices and other forms of flexible workspace is different. Costs are based on a ‘per desk’ basis, and these are effectively all-inclusive offices because service charges, fit-out, furniture, utilities, broadband, receptionist services, and so forth are included in the monthly licence fee.
There are other less quantitative costs to consider, too—for instance, the removal of responsibility for the facilities and property management of an office has varying levels of value to a business, as does the relative ease with which one can exit from a flexible space as opposed to the long-term commitment of a lease.
We can help with this—we provide access to all forms of workspace in Peterborough and can explain the differences in workspace cost management, legal aspects, and property management.
RICS regulates us, so we are independent and impartial. As we are paid by the office provider (only when the perfect solution is found), our services are always completely FREE.
So, let us know how we can help you weigh the differences in workspace solutions and find the best office space in Peterborough for your business.
