Who are Industry?

Established in 2015, Industry offers coworking space in Chester in Handbridge within a characterful redbrick building that was built in 1895 as a social club under the instruction of the first Duke of Westminster.

The beautiful building is equipped with state-of-the-art business technologies yet retains period features such as parquet flooring and beamed ceilings due to its Grade II listed status.

The community of members is diverse, and many members collaborate professionally together as well as socialise.

The building was originally built as a boys club and remaining in that vein, Industry is a not-for-profit coworking space provider.

As well as a range of coworking memberships, Industry offers event spaces and rooms for hire as well as virtual office services.

Why choose Industry collective coworking space in Chester?

The building that the coworking community resides in is striking – originally built as a working men’s institute, ‘Industry’ is a nod to its original use.

The building has been protected by Grade II listed status which highlights the huge, mullioned windows that draw in abundant light, and the traditional parquet floors such as carvings and leaded glazing.

All of these are offset by modern décor, beautiful interior design, and features such as the private phone booths that were installed in 2021.

The strong sense of community is a major attraction to Industry members and this is nurtured by a calendar of social events including breakfasts in town, Tuesday Cheese-day (thanks to the cheesemonger on Northgate!), and Friday beers.

A plethora of events from professional networking and workshops to lifestyle activities such as wine tastings and yoga are also hosted by Industry.

Members also love the garden space, which is ideal during the warmer months and is complete with an Incredible Edibles allotment section.

Industry is perfectly located in Handbridge which is a 10-minute walk south of Chester city centre, and a 20-minute stroll from Chester station.

If travelling by car, it is 10 minutes from the A55 and M53, and just 15 minutes from the M56.
