About Paddington Works

Founded in 2018, Paddington Works provides private office spaces for rent, coworking desk spaces in shared spaces, podcast studios, production suites, meeting rooms and an auditorium event space.

It provides these flexible workspace solutions out of its two-storey commercial property in the Paddington Basin in West London.

Described as a disruptive and innovative co-working space with a difference, it aims to humanise business, putting people at the heart of its collaborative community, introducing the leaders of tomorrow and encouraging them to be the best they can be.

Already home to successful and high-profile founders, Paddington Works’ purpose is to provide thoughtfully examined workspaces and stimulating member experiences and events that promote commercial growth as well as human well-being.

Paddington Works offers a Covid-safe and health-conscious environment that is partnered with a revolutionary neighbouring gym, has its own vertical farm, and engages in several protocols to ensure optimal well-being for its members.

It embodies the belief that a healthy work environment inspires the creation of extraordinary business ideas.

As well as creating exceptional workspaces for start-ups and scale-ups in Paddington, post-pandemic, it is increasingly providing on-demand office space solutions for flexible working employers.

Facts about Paddington Works

Why choose Paddington Works flexible workspace?

As a starter, all of Paddington Works’ co-working space is powered by 100% certified renewable energy from Good Energy UK.

And, as the home of some of the UK’s leading biotech and medtech companies including Abtrace, Paddington Works has been able to create their workspaces with a heightened focus on health and wellbeing. This advantage has also meant that they have been able to create some of the most Covid-safe office space in London.

It has invested heavily in safety measures such as the air change mechanics, which means that in the smallest rooms, the air is changed every 2 minutes and in the larger spaces, every 22 minutes.

Other measures include using circadian lighting in the workspaces that is tuned to the natural body clock, and the installation of HÅG Capisco ergonomic chairs – the same used by Joe Rogan when recording the JRE podcast.

Another member at Paddington Works is Corrigo Design who makes chairs that are recommended by physiotherapists and osteopaths, and these are installed in the space as well as the Capiscos.

The private office studios also offer electronic smart desks that allow members to stand or sit with and are equipped with integrated wireless mobile charging, cable management and a soft-touch surface. There is also concealed ambient illumination and VIPP lamps to enable bespoke task lighting.

Paddington Works even has its own vertical farm used to grow zero-mile crops including plants, herbs and vegetables that they give away to members.

There is also ample space for secure bike storage to encourage members to stay moving and cycle to work.

It’s not all about function, though, the Paddington co-working space has been featured in a list of ‘Design Conscious’ workspaces by Wallpaper and has been listed by Dezeen Awards in the ‘Large Workspace Interior’ category.

Paddington Works loves to use its various platforms to shout out the success of its members and partners which, aside from being a nice thing to do, is great for brand awareness and reach.

And one of those partners is the revolutionary gym, RETRA, which is located in the adjoining building and creates unique 30-minute workouts – perfect to fit into the working day.

Other members at Paddington Works are from a diverse range of industries and include, Cloudline, Emoji Games, Fabriq, Moth, Propeterra, Sphonic, Threefold, WePop, and Bottle Shot Coffee, to name just a few – and if the name of the last occupier sounds familiar, it’s because they pitched on Dragons Den and successfully won investment from Peter Jones.

And many of the other residents of Paddington Works successfully raise funding for their start-ups and scale-ups through crowdfunding, venture capital funds and other vehicles, which makes for a truly dynamic, educational, exciting, and inspiring working environment.

The office space building in Paddington Basin is just 7 minutes’ walk from Paddington Station which is served by overground and underground tube lines including the Crossrail Elizabeth Line that serves Central London.
