Established in 1978, The Writers Room is an affordable workspace in Manhattan in which writers, write.

In fact, The Writers Room members and alum have published more than 1,300 books, have had more than 500 plays staged, dozens of screenplays given the green light, and hundreds of articles, pieces, and poems published.

As New York City’s and, in fact, America’s first non-profit, shared writing working space, it is known by the writing community as an essential workplace resource for writers living in or visiting Manhattan.
