Who is WeWork?

WeWork was founded in 2010 and has grown to operate over 800 flexible commercial properties worldwide totalling over 40 million square feet of flex space.

WeWork operates flexible workspace centres that are within office space that is rented from landlords, and buildings that are owned by them; the latter giving them full design autonomy over the workspace that they provide and the office building in which it is located.

WeWork was rebranded in January 2019 to The We Company and operates several brands under the banner including WeWork, WeWork Labs, WeLive, WeGrow and Rise by We.

In October 2021, WeWork became a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker, ‘WE’.

In January 2022, in its first deal since going public, WeWork acquired flex space provider brand, Common Desk.

At the time of acquisition, the company had 4,000 customers across 23 shared office centres.
