A spokesperson for Deloitte told Bloomberg that the company, one of the so-called Big Four firms in its industry, that it will rent two floors of a 12-storey building near the Olympic Park site.
The price the firm will pay was not revealed but around 16,000 sqft at One Stratford Place is set to be used by Deloitte as a base for the various functions it has planned for when the eyes of the sporting world turn to Greater London.
Owned by the Westfield Group, One Stratford Place’s offices form part of a broader redevelopment scheme in east London that is closely linked to the district’s hosting of the Olympics.
A long list of high-profile businesses is planning to utilise the areas of office space available close to the Olympic site to host corporate functions and to promote their brands during what promises to be an exciting summer for London in 2012.
James Igoe, a spokesperson for Deloitte, said in an email to Bloomberg: “During the Games, it [the offices] will become the firm’s base near the Olympic Park and will be used primarily for meetings and hospitality.”
The Olympics in London start on July 27 and Deloitte intends to hold on to its 16,000 sqft of offices at One Stratford Place until after the closing ceremony of the Paralympics in early September. The office building itself has a total of roughly 130,000 sqft of space available for rent.
Deloitte has an extensive office space presence in London and it has been involved in financially supporting British athletes as they gear up for the games.
Editor’s notes: As of July 2023, the was 20,914 square feet of office space available to rent at One Stratford Place. An extensive refurbishment of the space was completed in 2022 and the quoted rent was £42.50 per square foot per year.
The building sits adjacent to Stratford’s Regional and International Station and offers 4-pipe fan coil air conditioning, bicycle racks and BREEAM Excellent-rated office space.
