Jim Morrison has been named the firm’s new regional manager for the north of England. He will operate from its Manchester base alongside its newly appointed senior underwriter, Steve Davidson.
Morrison’s experience includes time in senior positions at the insurance firms Eagle Star and the Royal Bank of Scotland Group subsidiary NIG. Davidson, meanwhile, will arrive at Arista’s Manchester offices having worked as a senior trading underwriter for Aviva, one of the world’s largest insurers.
In addition to the two high-level appointments, the London-based insurer also announced Karen Fendall’s promotion to the fleet underwriter post.
“These three appointments are further evidence of Arista’s recruitment and development of high calibre insurance professionals who can provide technical knowledge and local expertise for our brokers,” said Arista’s deputy chief executive Lyn Carslake.
“During 2012, Arista aims to recruit further skilful and experienced professionals to join our regional teams, ensuring our profitable growth continues through providing our brokers a high-quality service from local experts.”
Arista Insurance was founded in 2007 and is headquartered out of offices in the City of London close to Lloyd’s of London Insurance Exchange.
Its network of regional offices includes a presence in Bristol, Leeds, Southampton, and St Albans, as well as in Manchester, where two of its newest high-ranking employees will be based.
Editor’s notes: It was announced in April 2014 that Towergate Group acquired Arista Insurance. Towergate has over 60 offices in the UK, and its registered office is Minster Court, on Mincing Lane in the EC3 Insurance District of the City of London, which is dominated by Lloyd’s of London.
