IT provider opens new central London office

[Published October 2010 and April 2023] The IT solutions provider Softcat has moved into a new area of office space in central London.

Having established a strong reputation as a provider of software licenses, computer hardware and other IT services, the company is now aiming to recruit dozens of appropriately qualified graduates from in and around the capital over the coming months and years.

Effective recruitment is seen as a crucial ingredient in Softcat’s success and the securing of a new central London operating base is viewed as a significant step in its ongoing expansion plans.

On opening its new office in central London, the IT firm welcomed a number of its latest recruits and backed them to fit in well with an ethos based on satisfied staff leading to contented customers.

“Many people want the buzz of working in London, so this move has helped us to recruit some of the country’s brightest talent,” reckoned Softcat’s managing director Martin Hellawell.

“We are delighted with the new intake. I am confident that they will help us to build momentum in London, and then, over the next few months and years, will help many more talented new starters feel at home with our special way of doing things.”

With offices in Manchester, as well as in London and Buckinghamshire, Softcat generated close to £150 million worth of turnover in the last financial year and now has more than 1,000 customers nationwide.

The technology firm is very proud at having been named the ‘best company in the UK to work for’ by the Sunday Times in its most recent list of Britain’s best employers.

Editor’s notes: In 2015, Softcat became a public limited company and was listed on the London Stock Exchange. In 2016, the company was promoted to the FTSE 250 Index.

In 2022, the company employed approximately 1,800 people and posted revenues of £1,078 million.

In 2023, the information technology company had offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Southampton, and has its UK headquarters office in Marlow in Buckinghamshire.
