The accounting services and advisory business Plante Moran is in the process of combining its two Chicago offices with the aim of creating a more collaborative environment for its Illinois-based employees.
A total of 350 of the firm’s staff members will eventually be brought together under the same roof to work out of offices at 10 South Riverside Plaza in downtown Chicago.
The benefits of some cutting-edge technologies are promised at the new site, where Plante Moron will occupy two floors of office space as well as 12,000 sq ft of other space on the building’s ground floor. The other space will include meeting rooms, a street-level reception and room for any sort of training efforts or staff gatherings.
Expectations are that the process of renovating and readying the offices and the ground-floor areas of 10 South Riverside Plaza will take roughly a year and be completed by spring 2014.
“We are very excited about our upcoming expansion and the consolidation of our two offices,” said Steve Schneider, managing partner at Plante Moran’s Chicago office. “This new office demonstrates our commitment to Chicago and will enhance our client service capabilities while providing our people with an outstanding work environment.”
Plante Moran counts taxes, auditing, risk management and business consulting among its areas of expertise as a service provider. Its workforce numbers in excess of 2,000 in total and the company has offices elsewhere in Illinois besides Chicago, as well as in Michigan and Ohio. In addition to this, Plante Moron also has offices as far afield as Shanghai and Mumbai as part of a 21-strong international network of operating bases.
