Explore Offices for Rent in Shanghai
GlobalCollect competes with the online payment firm PayPal in markets around the world. The companies are the only two in their particular field to have opened offices in China.
In addition to its office in Shanghai and its planned office in Beijing, the company hopes to see further office openings in the Asia Pacific region in months to come, with Japan and Australia as the markets bosses have in mind.
GlobalCollect has made no secret that Asia is a major area of focus for its business simply because there are so many people living in the region and its e-commerce markets are relatively immature but rapidly expanding. Its offices in Shanghai are within the International Finance Centre, which forms part of the Pudong Lujiazui financial trade zone.
“Opening offices in Shanghai and Beijing enables GlobalCollect to get closer to our customers and foster stronger relationships than supporting them from afar,” said Mark Patrick, GlobalCollect’s general manager for the Asia Pacific region.
“Chinese companies will benefit from our ability to quickly take them global with our proven payment platform and specific expertise in the travel, retail and gaming markets, among others.”
GlobalCollect’s Asian headquarters are in Singapore, and the company has other regional offices in Buenos Aires, Argentina, San Francisco, California, and Hoofddorp, the Netherlands.
Editor’s notes: GlobalCollect was acquired by Ingenico in July 2014 at $1.12 billion, and Apollo Global Management acquired Ingenico in October 2022.
Apollo, which had a revenue of $32.64 billion in 2023, is headquartered in New York City and operates out of 5 global offices.
