Indian outfit sets-up offices in Manchester

[Published December 2010 and last updated June 2026] An Indian business that focuses on outsourcing strategies for companies in a wide variety of sectors has established an office space presence in Manchester, it has emerged.

Mangalam is headquartered on the sub-continent but is setting down roots in the northwest of England with a view to developing its operation in the UK.

The company counts finance and accounting firms, as well as legal and healthcare businesses, among its clients and is convinced of the need for its services in Britain, particularly in light of the country’s difficult economic circumstances.

Executive vice president of Mangalam, Srinath Mitragotri, paid tribute to the warm welcome he and his colleagues have received in Manchester and suggested that the city has a lot to offer in terms of business opportunities and high-quality office space.

“Outside of the UK, the general impression is that London is the only place for business in the UK, which is not true,” Mr Mitagotri made clear.

“The thriving business community and the overall ecosystem in Manchester are very conducive to business success.”

The opportunity for Mangalam to open for business through office space in Manchester was made possible in part by the North West Development Agency, which is working to attract businesses from around the world to set up in the region.

A report from CBRE in August of this year rated Manchester’s office space as the best in the UK outside London and noted that more than £300 million in office investment was made across the city in the first half of 2010.

Editor’s notes: Mangalam, part of the Electrotherm Group, rented office space at Piccadilly Place in Manchester; however, as of May 2023, it was not listed as a tenant there.

As of June 2026, Managalam, trading as Mangalam Infotech had two offices listed on its corporate website – one on Fifth Avenue in New York, and another in Ahmedabad in India.
