With several thousand staff already working in offices at various sites across the city, the company has agreed to lease an additional 200,000 square feet of commercial space in Manhattan.
The offices at 120 Park Ave are to undergo refurbishment before Bloomberg staff begin moving into the building towards the end of this year.
“We continue to hire in New York, and we expect that to continue as we expand our businesses and move into new markets worldwide,” commented Bloomberg president Daniel Doctoroff.
“This new location is ideal as we build upon our record-setting year in 2010 and position ourselves for future growth,” added the company’s chairman, Peter Grauer.
Bloomberg is headquartered in New York and employs roughly 6,000 people there. On a global basis, the business has more than 150 offices and is set to open a new European HQ in the City of London.
The architect Norman Foster is to design the new building in the City, which is expected to accommodate at least half a million square feet of office space in central London.
London is set to see several high-profile additions to its skyline over the next few years, with work underway on office towers across the city.

The 26-floor building had a Walk Score of 98, indicating an abundance of amenities within easy walking distance of the property.
However, if employees didn’t have time to take a stroll, the building offered several amenities of its own, including pantries stocked with a range of food and drink options, bike storage, on-site health facilities, and a 22nd-floor outdoor terrace offering great views of the city.
