Actuarial giant signs up for West End offices

[Published December 2012 and updated August 2024] Lane Clark and Peacock (LCP), one of the UK’s leading providers of actuarial consultancy services, has signed up to occupy around 40,000 sq ft of office space in the West End of London.

The deal was made between the company and the joint venture partners behind redeveloping the relevant property, namely Great Portland Estates and the Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.

LCP’s commitment ties it to operating from the under-development offices at 95 Wigmore Street, W1, for at least 15 years. The Great Wigmore Partnership, the joint venture behind the development, revealed that its new tenant will pay a total of £3.1 million annually in rent at an average of £77.50 for each square foot.

The partnership has said it will hand over the first to third floors of 95 Wigmore Street to LCP in March 2013 so that the consultancy firm can start fitting out its new West End offices.

“We are looking forward to welcoming LCP on completion of their fit-out in the summer next year,” said Neil Thompson, portfolio director of Great Portland Estates. “95 Wigmore Street will be a prominent, high-quality West End building, and we have good interest in the remaining space.”

LCP’s commitment to 40,000 sq ft of offices on Wigmore Street accounts for nearly half of all available space at the site. The company has more than 350 staff and 83 partners working in the UK, as well as offices in Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, as well as in Winchester on the south coast of England.
