The real estate advisory business Colliers International will soon switch its staff to a new office space site in the Yorkshire city of Leeds, it has been announced.
Colliers plans to shift its Leeds-based workforce to Highcross’ Broad Gate development in the city centre during March 2013, having signed up to occupy a 5,317 sq ft suite on the fourth floor of the development’s main building.
“This is a great start to the year and follows a successful 2012, when we let more than 27,000 sq ft at Broad Gate,” said Highcross director Richard Pellatt in a statement.
Broad Gate is among the leading mixed-use developments in Leeds city centre and the site incorporates a total of 140,000 sq ft of Grade A office space. Among the businesses signing up to occupy offices at the site in 2012 were Activision Publishing Inc and the Consulting Consortium.
“Broad Gate is widely considered to be the best office building in Leeds city centre,” said Greg Styles, head of Colliers International’s Leeds office. “It’s a true statement building, ideal for our Leeds team serving clients across the North of England. It is particularly fitting considering Colliers International’s leasing and project monitoring role for the original development.”
The near 50-strong Colliers workforce currently based in Leeds serves clients across the North of England and covers property deals across a range of sectors.
Highcross recently announced that it had sold an office space development in Edinburgh for a price of £46 million to the investment group PruPrim. The deal to sell the offices at Waverleygate, where the likes of Amazon, Microsoft and the British Council are all based, netted the company a considerable premium.
Editor’s Notes: The commercial real estate advisory firm was still based at 1, Broad Gate, The Headrow, Leeds LS1 8EQ in 2023.
In July 2021, it had been announced that the 54-person office would be led by Rob Whatmuff who is a lead director in the industrial & logistics northern team with clients including Peel Group, Lidl, Dixon Carphone, and Jaguar Land Rover.
