Croydon office park hits 95 percent occupancy

[Published November 2012 and updated August 2024] The Sixty Nine Park Lane office development in Croydon, southwest London, has hit 95 per cent occupancy following the agreement of a deal that will see Aetna Global Benefits operate from the site for the next decade.

Aetna’s business focuses primarily on providing vital information on health benefits to employees in various industries. The company has officially signed up to occupy 5,635 sq ft of office space at the Croydon site.

The real estate firm Savills brokered the deal on Aetna’s new offices. The company noted that less than 4,000 sq ft of space is now available for rent at the Sixty Nine Park Lane development.

Aetna joins the Liverpool Victoria Insurance group, Centric Commercial Finance, and employees of the London Borough of Croydon in occupying offices at the park. Having recently been substantially refurbished, the Sixty Nine Park Lane offices are now Grade A quality. Savills revealed that Aetna will be paying £120,540 per annum for ten years to rent its 5,635 sq ft allocation.

“We are pleased to welcome Aetna to Sixty Nine Park Lane, a property that combines attractive office space with a strategic business location in the centre of Croydon,” said Tom Mellows, one of Savills’ directors. The popularity of the development is evident from the high calibre of tenants and the fact [that] there is now just 3,945 sq ft remaining.”

In early October, Savills announced that it was bringing a ‘state-of-the-art’ new office building in Cambridge, the 100 Hills Road development, to market. The company noted that professional services giants Deloitte and KPMG are already operating from offices in the same part of the town, which is in the southeast of England just outside London.

Editor’s notes: As of August 2024, there was 9,758 square feet of office space available to rent at 69 Park Lane in Croydon and this space was available in three formats – ‘Let Ready Go’ which is traditionally leased office space, ‘Custom’ which is managed office space and ‘Complete’ which is fully serviced furnished office space. 

 

Other high-profile office development schemes in Croydon include 1 Ruskin Square (1 RS) that was completed in 2016 and was fully let by HMRC.
