The California-based company is a digital media services provider with an established international presence. It is now recruiting between 20 and 40 new employees to work from its latest Dublin offices.

Dublin has gained a reputation as a hotbed of technological business growth in recent years. The Irish government has made no secret of its hope to develop an increasingly significant ICT enterprise sector in the city. Demand Media’s Dublin offices are at One Clarendon Row, next to the historic Gaiety Theatre in the heart of the city.

“We are excited to expand our business into the thriving tech scene of Dublin,” commented Dave Panos, executive vice president of emerging markets for Demand Media. “We are eager to recruit creative and high-energy professionals who are up to the challenge of taking the lead in the changing Internet landscape,” he added.

Ireland’s minister for jobs, enterprise and innovation, Richard Burton, welcomed Demand Media’s move into Dublin and described the decision to establish its largest international office in the city as a further boost for the city’s technology sector.

Demand Media has offices in Toronto, London, and Buenos Aires, in addition to its official corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, California. David Ryan, formerly of the computer games firm Electronic Arts, has been appointed as general manager of Demand Media’s Dublin offices and domain services operations.

Other big-name tech firms with offices in and around Dublin include Amazon, eBay, Facebook, Twitter, Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo!
