Predictably enough for a firm so focused on eco-friendly development, Turner Construction has relocated its employees to a LEED Gold-certified building, reflecting strong approval from the US Green Building Council.
Close to 90 per cent of all construction waste resulting from the building of the Alliance Center in Atlanta was recycled, while green features like energy-efficient appliances have been installed throughout what is now Turner’s new operating base in the Georgian capital.
The design of the Atlanta office building also focused on ensuring that plenty of natural light floods in through the windows, so electric lights are not as commonly used as they might have been.
Dave Butler, vice president and general manager of Turner’s operations in Atlanta, commented: “Relocating to this sustainable office space further supports Turner’s commitment to green building practices and the greening of our own operations for the benefit of our clients, employees and all who enter our new office space.”
As one of the largest companies of its kind in the US, Turner Construction has maintained an office presence in Atlanta for several decades and has other Green Building Council-accredited bases in Dallas, Kansas City, South Florida, and Southern California, among other locations.
For its part, the US Green Building Council is based in Washington, DC, and operates as a not-for-profit organisation that encourages the construction of ‘cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings’ throughout America, particularly in its major cities.
Certified LEED buildings are those voluntarily assessed by the USGBC for their sustainability performance and the environmentally friendly steps taken during their design and construction.
Editor’s notes: As of May 2023, Turner Construction was based at 3495 Piedmont Road in NE Building 11 – the location is also referred to as The Fountains at Piedmont.
The Alliance Center is actually a complex comprised of various towers – Global Payments is headquartered in Three Alliance Center and there is a mix of leased office space for rent as well as a range of flexible workspace and office space solutions.
The Regus space at One Alliance Center, for instance, offers a choice of variously sized private serviced offices, managed office spaces and a choice of 25 coworking desks and rentable meeting rooms.
Contracts for space are always short-term, and the rental rates cover things like furniture, utilities, cleaning, reception services and so on.
As of June 2026, Turner Construction listed 3495 Piedmont Road NE, Building 11, Suite 700, Atlanta, Georgia 30305 as its Atlanta address.
At the same time, Regus continued to offer a range of flexible business space solutions at One Alliance Center, situated near Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza.
