The club is among the largest and best supported in the sporting world and its office space expansion is aimed at enabling the continuation of its highly successful off-field activities.
Despite playing its home matches in the north-west of England, much of the club’s commercial operations are based in London and it is believed to have outgrown the offices in Pall Mall where its employees have been working from in recent years.
According to the Telegraph newspaper, the Premier League leaders will pay £80 per square foot for its new office space in the prestigious Mayfair area of London’s West End.

Among the most lucrative commercial arrangements reached in recent years by United’s London-based team saw the American insurance group Aon agree to pay £20 million a year to become the club’s official shirt sponsor.
It is estimated that Manchester United currently generates around £80 million annually through its various commercial activities.
Back in November, London’s West End was reported by CB Richard Ellis to be the most expensive place in the world in which to rent office space. Around the same time, Cushman & Wakefield rated London as a whole as being the best city in the world in which to do business.
Editor’s notes: As of May 2023, Manchester United were still based in offices in Stratton Street in Mayfair where they rented 11,500 square feet.

However, in March 2023, it had been announced that the football club would be vacating the Mayfair office and moving across town to Kensington where they would be renting 16,000 square feet of office space plus a 7,414 square foot roof terrace at The Kensington Building. The move would be made in the Autumn of 2023.
