A new business centre made up primarily of office space, meeting rooms, conferencing and communal areas has been opened in the town of Harrow on the outskirts of central London.

The offices have been delivered through the St Edward joint venture partnership, which is made up of the property-developing Berkeley Group and the finance firm Prudential. Both parties welcomed the official opening of the Stanmore Business and Innovation Centre, which already has five distinct organisations installed at the site.

Located within Stanmore Place, the Stanmore Business and Innovation Centre’s opening marks the completion of the first of three planned phases of development for the area. St Edwards intends to deliver a total of 52,000 sq ft of mixed-use space before the Stanmore Place scheme is completed.

Occupants of the new Great London offices will have access to a range of professional services and support as part of the tenancy terms at the business centre. With London Underground connections close by, the four-storey development adds notably to the managed office space offerings available to small to medium-sized businesses in Harrow.

“The council is excited by the launch of this dynamic and innovative project and I am delighted that start-up companies will get the crucial support needed during the early stages of setting up their businesses so they can grow and become a success,” said Keith Ferry, Harrow Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration and planning.

“Attracting new businesses and encouraging investment into the borough is at the heart of everything that we do. This is a real opportunity to support and develop talented individuals and create successful businesses of the future.”

Companies already attracted to offices within Harrow’s newest business centre include and corporate consultancy firm, a niche investment company, a local accountant, an overseas student support service and a social enterprise concerned with political engagement among young people.
