The accountancy and business advisory firm Mitchell Charlesworth has launched a new operation, with staff working across offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, and Widnes.
The initiative has seen Mitchell Charlesworth’s corporate finance division combined with Vanguard, a separate northwest-based business with similar expertise. MC Vanguard Corporate Finance started operating as a joint venture company this month under Mitchell Charlesworth’s broader financial advisory offering.
Vanguard was founded in Liverpool in 2007 and has worked on various acquisition and disposal deals since then, primarily in the technology, telecoms and manufacturing sectors.
Bosses at Mitchell Charlesworth have suggested that the merger arrangement reflects the firm’s ambition to offer a complete service to its small and medium-sized company clients across the north-west of England.
“We built Vanguard by working with ambitious business owners who want to accelerate their growth through acquisition and with other hard-working clients looking for help to maximise the value of the businesses they have spent a lifetime building,” said MC Vanguard partner Brian McCann.

Mitchell Charlesworth has city centre offices in Manchester and Liverpool and a business park office based on Lunts Heath Road in Widnes.
