Offices on Wild Basin Road in Austin have become the company’s new official corporate headquarters. Several new executives have been appointed in recent weeks, and scores of new employees have been hired.
Smarter Security’s business is based on delivering entrance control and other outdoor security systems, and rising demand for its services saw its employee numbers rise sharply during 2011. At 8,200 sqft, the company’s new Austin office space covers roughly twice the area of its previous headquarters.
The fast-growing business has offices in Austin, Houston, Chicago, San Diego, and New York City. Its new offices include designated meeting rooms, training rooms, and space set aside for demonstrating its latest home security-based innovations.
“This larger office space provides us with new capabilities which are essential as we prepare for important developments,” said Smarter Security’s chief executive Jeff Brown.
“This move, along with several additions we’ve made to our executive team in recent months, helps position us for what we expect to be a landmark year ahead.”
In other US office space news, the global reinsurance giant Aon recently announced that it intends to switch its corporate headquarters from offices in Chicago to space in the City of London. Bosses at the company insist that the move will not result in job losses in the US and that Chicago remains a significant centre for its American operations.
