The Swedish law firm Magnusson has opened its first office in Berlin as part of a broader plan to grow its business across various parts of Europe.
Magnusson describes itself as a firm that focuses its operations specifically on the Baltic Sea Region, which incorporates Scandinavia, parts of Eastern Europe, and Germany. The launch of its Berlin office will support its growth efforts primarily within the fields of corporate litigation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, banking, and finance, the firm said in an official statement.
Dr Thomas Kaiser-Stockmann, a lawyer and partner at Mannheimer Swartling, has been hired to lead the early progress of Magnusson’s new Berlin office from March 2013 onward.
“With the launch in Berlin, we continue our strategic drive into key markets across the Baltic Sea Region,” said Per Magnusson, senior partner at the firm that bears his name. “The arrival of Thomas significantly bolsters our ability to deliver seamless services to our Nordic and Baltic clients doing business in Germany as well as leading German companies,” he added.
In addition to opening a new office in the German capital, the Magnusson law firm expanded into Lithuania in the early weeks of 2013 and opened offices in Kaunas and Vilnius. That move meant it could claim to have offices in every nation with a Baltic Sea coastline.
“We are the only law firm offering seamless integrated legal services in all the markets across the Baltic Sea Region. It is our unique selling point and a promise to the market,” said Magnusson in another recent statement.
The firm’s other offices are in Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Malmo, Moscow, Minsk, Oslo, Riga, Stockholm, Tallinn and Warsaw.
