The law firm is to occupy 90,000 square feet of office space in the Plaza, which is run by landlord Bruntwood.
According to the Liverpool Daily Post, the law firm was also considering moving into Rumfords 20 Chapel Street before deciding against it.
Recently Weightmans completed a merger with Mace & Jones to create a company with over 1,000 employees and more than GBP 75 million in fees per year.
Regional Director at Bruntwood David Guest confirmed the leasing and said: “Both parties are finalizing legal documents for signature and exchange imminently.”
The Plaza, located at 100 Old Hall Street in Liverpool was recently refurbished and provided with a new reception and entrance with floor-to-ceiling glazing, a customer lounge area and on-site shops and meeting rooms.
Liverpool Lime Street station is within a five-minute walk of the building. The Plaza opens out onto St Pauls Square which has also recently been redeveloped.
Weightmans also has offices in Manchester, Leicester, Birmingham and London.
Bruntwood has also recently announced that two new tenants have moved into its most recent acquisition, Cotton House in Manchester.
The recently redeveloped Cotton House will now host online media company Specific Media and professional services company Farrsight Solutions.
Andrew Cowell, Head of Sales for Manchester commented: “We are very happy to secure these two pre-lets on the back of the whole-scale refurbishment of Cotton House. In addition to this, the building is in a great location close to useful transport links and amenities. We know it is going to prove a popular addition to our Manchester city centre portfolio.”
Resulting from its refurbishment, Cotton House now has a brand new entrance area and reception.
