[Published Sept 2021 and updated July 2023] The technology solutions firm Insight Direct has signed up to take a floor of office space at the ‘Metro’ development in Salford, Greater Manchester.

Find Office Space for your Company in Salford

Close to 18,000 sq ft of office space at the newly established site will be occupied by the company as it looks to expand its operations in the UK. A ten-year lease was agreed between Insight and BAM Properties, the investment group behind the project.

Insight joins the Australian projects company Sinclair Knight Merz in signing up to occupy office space at Metro, where a majority of the available square footage is now accounted for.

Jet Golia, Insight’s commercial vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa said: “Insight is delighted to have secured new office space at the Metro development.

“The design quality, amenity and expansion space offered by Metro has long been needed by our fast-growing Manchester operation”.

BAM’s north of England development manager Neil Mort added: “It’s been tough during the recession so it’s particularly gratifying to have let half the building in the last five weeks, which hopefully augurs well for the northwest property market.”

Metro was the first office building in Greater Manchester outside the Manchester city centre to have been given a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating for its sustainability performance.

Earlier this month The Greenhouse office building in Salford’s flagship MediaCityUK development welcomed the TV and video production company Antix Productions as its newest resident.

Office space experts at GVA Grimley said earlier this year that Manchester will lead a resurgence in the north of England property market.

Editor’s notes: In April 2022, it was reported that Insight had moved out of Metro to move into the Spinningfields district of Manchester city centre.

The IT solutions firm signed a lease at 3 Hardman Street agreeing to rent 9,000 square feet at the property to join other occupiers including Bank of New York Mellon,  JMW, Pinsent Masons, and Regus.

Regus offer occupiers at 3 Hardman Street alternatives to leasing office space on traditional leases. The international flexible workplace provider offers private serviced offices, and desk spaces in coworking lounges on flexible short-term contracts that allow occupiers to flex within the space and with all-inclusive pricing so the rent covers all occupational overheads such as utilities, cleaning, reception services and other items.
